It amazes me that we as a human race go through hell and high water before we finally realize that God's way is the correct way. In 1 Kings 18:20, Elijah states to King Ahab and the people of Israel, " How long will you falter two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him." This to me parallels with Joshua's demand to the previous generation of the Israelites to "choose you this day whom ye will serve." (Joshua 25:19). To bring it today's reality, which way will you go,or which path will you take? The path that God has set before you, or do you prefer to follow only what's convenient for you on the path that you have chosen for yourself?
After the prophet presents this "ultimatum", if you will, he then challenges the god Baal to compete with His God. He does this by charges the 450 prophets of Baal to pick a bull for sacrifice, chop it up, prepare an alter with wood, but with no fire. When they call upon Baal, if he is a god, the alter will catch fire. Elijah, one man, will do the same, except he will call on the name of the Lord.
The story goes on to describe the process of the prophets of Baal. They called on their god for hours; no answer. They then began to cut themselves with knives; still nothing. In verses 36-39, Elijah, with his alter drenched in water does one thing. He calls upon the name of the Lord. Instantly fire came down and consumed the entire alter. Wow!!!
There are so many unnecessary obstacles and problems we face because want to do things our way or the way that is approved by those around us. I beg you to "try Jesus" as the seasoned saints often say. And see that even though His way is different and challenging, He does not waist our time. He'll always show up and show out on our behalf if we allow Him to do so. Do things His way! If He tells you to wait; wait. If He tells you to move; move. Just know that whatever you do in obedience to God is never in vain. Never!
Something to Meditate on:

ChrisTeen embraces diversity, individuality, and creativity. Our goal is to unite the younger saints that seek to please God whole heartedly and give them a voice in the Christian community. We support the aspect of having a personal relationship with God. Not only will this provide a support system for those that dare to be peculiar, it will also draw other souls into the Kingdom of God.

Signs and Wonders
Why does God have to show us signs and wonders in order for us to believe? Why can't we just take Him at His word? Isn't His word the only confirmation needed? (St.John4:46-51) What's your opinion?

Lamentations 3:26
" It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord"
What does it mean by quietly? "Am I not supposed to pray?" " I can't talk to anybody?"
In my opinion, we are supposed to be quiet when it comes to our actions. It's telling us not to run around like a chicken with its head cut off, trying to find or make our way out. Let God do His job. Someone told me that when prophesy comes, there are tests that come before it is fulfilled. She told me to ask God, " What do I need to learn from these tests?" Being a Macro visioned person, when the word comes forth, I see only the big picture or the great outcome and forget about all of the in betweens. I know how it feels to grow impatient but I say to you as I say to myself: Although you may not understand what's happening at this very moment and your pillow may be wet with tears. You should know that God's word is true when it says,"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose." Rom.8:28. The same things that have you crying now will be the things that you will thank God for later. I heard a man say, "In a storm, you don't move. Stay on that rock until the storm passes." Again I say as Jeremiah says " it is good that a man should both hope and QUIETLY wait for the salvation of the Lord! Please! Please! Hold out! You will not be disappointed, God will honor your trust and confidence in Him.

Created to be....
I was sitting in my house one night, flipping through channels, and I came across a special nature program on PBS. Some where off the cost of Australia, I think once a year, many different types of animals both land and sea come to eat. I thought to myself, " These animals gather at the same place every year without any doubt of whether or not they will be fed." Now I understand Matthew 6: 25-26 more clearly. It says "If you decide for God, living a life of God-worship, it follows that you don't fuss about what's on the table at mealtimes or whether the clothes in your closet are in fashion. There is far more to your life than the food you put in your stomach, more to your outer appearance than the clothes you hang on your body. Look at the birds, free and unfettered, not tied down to a job description, careless in the care of God. And you count far more to him than birds." -> Message Translation. Surely these organisms are not doing all that we do. So you may ask, "What are they doing?". It's simple; THEY ARE ONLY BEING WHAT THEY WERE CREATED TO BE!! Can a fish be a snake? Can a shark decide that it wants to be crocodile? No, they will die and so will we if we continue to operate outside of God's divine will. If we follow these examples and be who we were created to be, we will soon realize that God will do everything else.
I Kings Ch. 17 starting at verse 2 reads: " and the word of the Lord came unto him (Elijah) saying, Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide theyself by the brook Chrerith, that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there. So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord; for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook." We see here that as the prophet Elijah moved in obedience, there was already a way made for his survival. Maybe God has not told you how He would do it, but He told you that He would do it. He told you that He would supply you with all that you will need. Why wouldn't He! You've moved in obedience! Walk the path; provision is already in place. Protection, opportunity, and favor, God has been there and has lined it up. The vision that we have looking foward may not be clear but go in faith. God honors those that trust and obey. Let's stop going against the grain. Let's stop doing all of this extra stuff, therefore making our lives more complicated. Let's be what we are supposed be, the people that God himself has called us to be. I say this to you while saying this to myself first. "Everything is already there; just move and stop trying to figure it out. You'll go crazy."

Make a Move:)
" Anyone who keeps on watching the wind won't plant seeds.
Anyone who keeps looking at the clouds won't gather crops.
You don't know the path the wind takes.
You don't know how a baby is made inside its mother.
So you can't understand how God works either.
He made everything.
In the morning plant your seeds.
In the evening keep your hands busy.
You don't know what will succeed.
It may be one of the other.
Or both might do equally well."
-Eccl.11:4-6 New International Reader's Version-
"Step out on faith; you never know what God has planned!"
"For we walk my faith and not by site" 2Cor.5:7
Don't wait for perfect conditions to act on your God given dreams because you will never get it done. Step out on faith. Who knows, that one step of faith could be what God is waiting for in order to open up those windows and doors of opportunities. Ask God to change your perspective. Let this year be a faith filled year. A year of progress, a forward moving year. No more being paralyzed by fear but moved by faith, believing God for the extraordinary.

Keep Saving Me
The cool and awesome thing about having this personal relationship with God is the fact that we can go to Him about anything, specifically our struggles. I'm not speaking on the external problems such as family, money, etc. I'm talking about those internal hindrances, the difficulties in our minds, the flesh. Sometimes we may find that we lack the passion or the desire to live for Him as we would like to. Well, talk to Him about it. From my experiences, all it has taken for me so far is to simply have the desire to do better, express that desire to God and He begins to make it possible. 1Cor10:13 " There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that which ye are able: but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it". The scripture says that with each opportunity to do wrong, there is also an opportunity to do right. We make the decision at the end. Ask God to open your eyes so that you may see these exits, if that is your desire. I recently found that prayers of this kind are not some new phenomenon. King Solomon prays a prayer in 1Kings 8:58 " The He (the Lord) may incline or bend out hearts unto Him, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments, and His statutes, and His judgements, which He commanded our fathers". Yes, we can pray that God will touch our hearts to do His will, but remember that it is a personal choice to do right. Maybe some of you will not be able to relate. In this walk I've come to know that God knows me , including the things that distract me and cause me to mess up from time to time. However, we should not use that as an excuse to continue on doing the same thing; Instead we should see this as a reason to humble ourselves and ask for help.

" What can I do, to make you feel secure; remove all your doubt? So that you know for sure that you're the apple of my eye, fulfillment of my dreams. Time, will show the value of just what you mean to me. More precious than silver, more precious than diamond rings or anything that I can give, it wouldn't mean a thing. If you didn't have my love beside you there to guide you through, but it is good to know you do!!!"
Isn't it good to know that God loves you? Isn't it good to know that He is concerned about the things that concerns you and that He will not allow theses things to overtake you. In Isaiah 43:1-2, the Lord speaks through the prophet: " I have called you by name; YOU ARE MINE! When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; when you pass through the rivers, they will not overflow you..." Then He continues in verses 4&5, "Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I LOVE YOU,I will give men in exchange for you, and people for you life." So in other words, Go foward!!!! God knows those that belong to Him, and He will not leave them out to dry. He didn't bring you here just to drop you off. He brought you here to show you more of His character and to show how much He loves you. I say this to you as I say it to myself, "Don't worry! God has got you in the palm of His hand and He will perfect those things that concern you." (Psalm 138:8.) Stay faithful, continue to be of good courage because "none of them that trust in Him shall be desolate." (Psalm 34:22)

Food for the Soul
Here's a list of songs to encourage my peers. This goes out to the college student, the young entreprenuer, and the one that dares to trust God to do the impossible. You chose to obey so know that God sees you and He hears you. He knew that you would be here and has already made a way. Stay faithful and God will honor it. 1Peter 5:10 says. " but the Lord God of all grace, who called us unto His glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, estabish you, strenthen' and settle you". Love vs. Law
To tell you the truth, as I sit and think about my past, at the age of 12 I have no idea why I got "saved". I think at that point, I just didn't want to go to hell. That's probably why a good whole month after that, I was back to my old self. I'm pretty sure that many can relate. I had no other reason to want to be saved, so there was really nothing there to hold me. All I ever heard was don't do this and don't do that, so I thought being a Christian meant that one was not allowed to have fun. I feel as though that is where we make our mistake; we present God's law first instead of God's love. Not a lot of people are being told " God loves you just the way you are" right now at this very moment whether you are saved or not saved. Not many are told "come as you are", meaning come in all of your mess. All we hear is "God wants you to obey Him!!" Well, yes He is serious about His word and yes, He wants us to obey Him. However, He also desires for us to love Him!! THAT is the first and most important commandment. Mark 12:29-30 states: "The first of all comandments is Hear O Israel, The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shall love the Lord thy with all thy heart, and with all thy soul and, with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment." Personally, falling in love with God made it easier to want to do right. Musiq Soulchild has a song by the name of "Better Man"..." All the love in this world, I wanna give to this girl, because she makes me want to be a better man. All the games I've played are in the past, because I know this one's gonna last. It's crazy how she makes me wanna be a better man for her." That, my friend is what being in love with God feels like; you'll want to be a better you. So after saying the prayer for salvation or saying the prayer of repentence, whatever it's called, start your walk by getting to know who God is. Instead of reading the word looking for all of the do's and don'ts, look for God's character. And when you pray, talk to Him as if you are sitting across from your bestfriend. Be honest with Him. Tell God about your struggles; tell God about your fears. Express yourself to Him because that is what He wants from us. Once you see that God accepts you and that He accepts ALL of you, then you'll fall in love. This love will be the thing that causes the want to change. " I don't want to change for other people. I want to change for God." So to put an end to my long windedness( if that's a word), Following the first commandment which is to love God with all of our heart will make it easier for us to adhere to the rest.

Self-Help, No Help!
On many occassions we find ourselves stocking up on self help books and books about success because we don't want to suck at life. But what i've found is that most of those books are one sided. They tell you to "change the way you think" or " right it down and hang it up". Christian books are included, these are the ones that take you to John 14:14 " If ye shall ask anything in my name, I will do it". But what about the rest? John 14:15 goes on to say " If ye love me, keep my commandments". Prosperity and "Good" success does not come just because we write it down on a piece of paper. It comes from out obedience, our obedience to God's word and obedience to His voice as it relates to our individuals lives. Even though I didn't recieve this truth in these exact words. During the last two months of my senior year, I some how knew that if I didn't want to be a failure, I had to respond to the voice that was calling for my attention.

Big Dreams
Ever since I could remember,I've always had high hopes and dreams for my life. I've never been able to grasp the idea of a 9 to 5, and as I continue to live my life that idea has disappeared altogether. Anyway,I open on that note because as I got into my last two years of high school, those high hopes did not lead to a smile on my face or a bubbly feeling in my stomach; they lead to tears in my eyes and a tightening in my chest. I now know that there were two reasons why those feelings occurred. # 1, my goals at that time were not what God had for me and # 2, deep down inside I didn't believe that anything extraordinary could ever happen to someone like me. Needless to say, those dreams have changed and it began with a simple "yes!"..............
